Purification By Mud is an exhibition of new work that will make use of prosthetic technologies such as POV cameras, contact microphones and casting clay, to look critically at patriarchal conceptualisations of the phallus, castration anxiety and the erotics of fluidity.
It will include drawings, mud, seeds, contraceptives, fairylights, a hard bench and soft upholsterings, as well as new video work featuring mess-making with clay, fruit and bodily fluids, to explore individual and collective sensual experiences as alternative ways of feeling, thinking and doing (white cis male) sexuality.
