"A touch of summer"

Jun 23 - Aug 30, 2010

Opening: Wednesday 23rd, 2010, the exhibition starts at 6 pm and runs until August 30th, 2010. The summer party starts at 8 pm.

A large overview of the photographic works from the Italian photographer Massimo Vitali will be on display on the occasion of the exhibition “A touch of summer” at Hilger Brotkunsthalle. The time period from the beginning of the Beach Series up to today will be shown. His analogue photographs, verging on voyeurism, reflect reality without any enhancement by touching up or editing the pictures. His works always focus on anonymous masses of people populating landscapes radically shaped by human hand. Beaches are traditionally fantasised as places of relaxation and recreation, but the teeming crowds of human bodies, towels and deckchairs he photographs in his beach series make them into monuments of the missing harmony between man and nature.

In parallel to the opening of the exhibition we would be pleased to welcome you to our summer party at 8 pm at Hilger BrotKunsthalle, Absberggasse 27, (Metro U1 Reumannplatz, 2 stops - tram 6 , direction Zentralfriedhof, stop Absberggasse), 1100 Vienna.
