SANDRA NORRBIN

FROM MASTER OF FINE ART EXHIBITION 2006, TRONDHEIM ART ACADEMY CATALOGUE

From Master of Fine Art Exhibition 2006, Trondheim Art Academy catalogue:

Sandra Norrbin’s sculptural installation is a rhizomorphous web with ropes, strings and various textile and plastic materials. It takes the museum’s huge roof window structure as a source of inspiration. The metallic construction is like a wound in the architecture and at the same time a certain limit in the visual field. Her working method requires physical contact with the materials used for realisation and within the actual site of representation. But the battle is not only physical; it seems to bear psychological equivalences, senses of distance and proximity and feelings of aggression and frustration. These senses are communicated through material elements and finally turned into an aesthetic solution.
