4TH RECYCLINGDESIGNPRIZE

16 October – 7 November 2010

The Arbeitskreis Recycling e.V. has been launching the RecyclingDesignPreis since 2007. This is the only design competition in Germany which explicitly deals with protecting resources and reducing CO2 in the field of design. For the fourth time in succession, up-and-coming designers were called upon to explore and develop the “hidden meaning of discarded things” by applying and using leftovers and scraps. A further requirement was that it should be possible to mass produce the designs on a smaller or larger scale, either in connection with employment promotion or by craft workshops. The contributions, which are to be evaluated, range from objects for everyday use to furniture, textiles and accessories.
