The exhibition seeks to incite a new understanding of the relationship between humans and animals. A change in perspective is required to regard animals not as “the other” or as a projection screen for one’s own wishes and fears, but as individuals with abilities and rights. This approach – treating animals as social actors – has been discussed in transdisciplinary human-animal studies for quite a while and is now to be probed with the methods of art in the frame of the exhibition.
