Climate change is picking up speed. The melting of the ice in the Antarctic for example will at least triple the estimated speed of sea level rise. ‘2050 – Nature Morte’ shows art that analyzes, alarms and shakes up with aesthetic-artistic means and presents the topic as a political subject. The latter in particular opens up options for action to help prevent the creeping death of our ecosystem at the last minute, or at least weaken the course of the catastrophe predicted by scientists for 2050. Topics such as anthropocentrism and species extinction, rising temperatures and the energy industry are at the center of interest of the 11 artists from Berlin, Frankfurt a M, Hamburg, Vienna and Athens.

2050 – nature morte is curated by Raimar Stange. A magazine with texts by Sonja Lau Abraham, Carsten Probst, Lena Reisner, Raimar Stange, Harald Welzer and statements by the artists will be published.

The exhibition is supported by Senatsverwaltung Kultur und Europa, Berlin, and ER Energy Retal Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. Fabian Knecht’s installation was made possible by the friendly persmission of AmanoGroup.
