CON LA CÁMARA A CUESTAS
Miradas De Mujer
27 February - 16 March 2014
Con la cámara a cuestas is a project in collaboration with the University of Deusto’s Sociocultural challenges and human rights in a changing world research team, Doctors of the World and the Association Ignacio Ellacuria.
The project's aims are to facilitate migrants access to culture and more specifically to contemporary art, as well as to encourage personal empowerment through the guided tour to EMMET GOWIN’s exhibition at Sala Rekalde.
Through this collaboration, we want to promote the narrative and testimonial power of the photographic image and gather the testimony of migrants in order to reflect upon their behavioral patterns, their “day to day” in a new city, a new culture, a new life.
The photographs taken by the participants, all of them migrant women, will take us to their everyday routines, family ties, and the neighborhoods and contexts in which they live.
