MY WORK IS CHARACTERISED BY A ...

My work is characterised by a subjective and intimate view on phenomena in our present, on ideas, on creativity and on the art in itself. The source of my motivation is primarily the identity as a subject, and individuality in a mass-culture.

The subjects of my work are my private life, the different fields of pop culture and the art-world itself. Because of the self-reflecting nature of my art, narrative fragments are often included in the final product. Hopefully they can be joined together in the observers own thoughts and stories. Ideally I want to touch the viewer, where he is sensitive and open him up by a little change in the context; a DJ-video which demands the audience to be quiet (the piece is called "please be quiet"); an exhibition which exhibit unrealisible and unfeasible projects ("drawing unrealized projects"); a ‘white magazine’ which looks like and is a magazine, though hand-written, copy-made and with only the names of labels but not the corresponding visuals.

I approach the respective phenomena by working as closely as possible to the chosen subject and then by trusting my intuition. This happens especially due to my digital camera which I have been accompanied by for years. The photos function as the most important basis for my work. With them, I observe and search and they are a reflection of my thoughts and my need to understand. Through the photographs I look for poetic moments and qualties. In the aesthetics of digital photography I try to seek the 'NOW'.
