In the work HOME, the steam from a boiler materializes: how much do we understand about the things around us? To what degree are we more likely not to perceive what we do not understand? I work with forms and objects removed from their everyday context. It fascinates me to see how the slightest deviation from the norm can result in a loss of orientation and understanding. The Sumo wrestler, a body that has lost its form, exemplifies this to me. Is our perception subjected to a certain order, a system? And when does this system lose stability? In the large format drawings, typical carpet patterns gradually dissolve into chaos, creating a disorderly image. Can one find the familiar in this disorder?
