TOWARDS THE MEAN: SAMPLING BRITISHNESS TODAY
16 March - 19 June 2016
An interactive installation exploring how national identity is determined and defined in a multi-cultural and globalised society.
Designed by Marianne Holm Hansen in association with Seth Scott and electronic musicians from the Guildhall School, come and question the idea of identity by having your portrait and voice manipulated into an evolving British ‘average’.
The installation accompanies the exhibition Strange and Familiar: Britain as Revealed by International Photographers curated by iconic British photographer Martin Parr, presenting a vibrant portrait of the UK from the 1930s onwards.
