WINDOW DISPLAY: MICKAËL MARCHAND
5 - 21 August 2013

Mickaël Marchand, videostill "NYC 2010", video 17:46 min, 2010. With “Window Display” Künstlerhaus Bethanien presents a new exhibition cycle produced for the public space at Kottbusser Straße 10. On a monthly base passers-by will be able to view solo presentations by international artists on a screen inside our gallery window.“NYC 2010” is the continuation of the video work „Berlin 2009“ by French artist Mickaël Marchand and presents a documentation of ephemeral installations in the streets of New York City. Using found objects and furnitures Marchand creates installations that only exist for short moments and talk in a slightly humorous way about balance, stability and fall. Repeatedly the audience can watch the same three stages of Marchand’s constructions: the created installation, the moment of falling and the collapsed composition.
