From July 16 – September 2, 2013, Denver will host the Biennial of the Americas, an international festival of ideas, art, and culture.
Ideas:
The Biennial provides a stage for leaders in business, government, nongovernmental organizations, philanthropy, and the arts to convene and examine critical issues around the theme Unleashing Human Potential: Reinventing Communities, Business, and Education.
Evening symposia are open to the public and will include inspirational discussions with leaders from diverse sectors and regions across the Americas. Media icons such as Tina Brown, Arianna Huffington, and Patricia Janiot will lead panels of renowned experts as they explore the themes of reinventing communities, business, and education.
Art:
The Biennial will also present an exhibition of public art and architectural installations titled Draft Urbanism. Artists and architects from across the Americas will examine our evolving human relationship with cities and urban areas as they transform four downtown Denver locations using large-scale, interactive works of art.
Culture:
Denver’s vibrant cultural scene will celebrate the Americas through a variety of public programs and events sponsored by local organizations, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, the Mexican Cultural Center, the Denver Film Society, RedLine, Museo de las Americas, VISIT DENVER, and more.
Public Festivals:
Experience the diversity of the Americas through food, film, music, and more during a series of free public festivals: Canada Night! (Hosted by Suncor Energy), Mexico Night! (Hosted by the Consulate General of Mexico in Denver) and Denver Night! (Hosted by the Biennial of the Americas).
