LONDON is a new film work by Jimmy Merris. Commissioned by Bloomberg SPACE and presented alongside a series of large scale posters designed by Stockholm’s Studio SM, the film documents a ten-day road trip taken by the artist around London – his home city – in a hired motorhome. The exhibition is a collaboration between SPACE and Bloomberg SPACE and will feature an accompanying travelogue text by SPACE Exhibitions Curator, Paul Pieroni.
Jimmy Merris (b. 1983) was born, lives and works in South London. Recent solo presentations include Deep Joy on Home Soil, Studio Voltaire, London, 2012; Economics 101 (with Terry Dennett), SPACE, London, 2012; Finding Your Feet in the Times of the Worried Man, SEVENTEEN, London, 2011. Group exhibitions include Yes I Will Yes, American Contemporary, New York, 2013; Awesome Tapes From Africa Mate, Bold Tendencies, London, 2013 and Young London, V22, London, 2012.
