THE GALLERY COLLECTION
Exhibition curated by Beda Achermann
11 February – 14 April, 2012

Before moving to a newly renovated and enlarged exhibition space in Zurich’s Löwenbräu area in Spring 2012, Bob van Orsouw Gallery is delighted to present its Gallery Collection in a dense exhibition curated by creative director Beda Achermann. The twenty-year-old gallery history will be reflected in more than 200 works. Artists range from early up to recent periods of the gallery program, and the choice is rounded up by works from the gallerist’s private collection. Curator Beda Achermann focuses on photography in particular and presents a dazzling salon exhibition with intriguing constellations.
The show includes photographs by, amongst others, Nobuyoshi Araki, Jean-Marc Bustamante, Sylvie Fleury, Douglas Gordon, Loretta Lux, Russ Meyer, Daido Moriyama, Walter Pfeiffer, Shirana Shahbazi, Annelies Strba, Frank Thiel, and Bernard Voïta.
Hubbard/Birchler are highlighted through a suite of 18 portraits entitled Troop. The exhibition also comprises paintings by Armen Eloyan, Anton Henning, Paul Morrison, Julian Opie, and Albrecht Schnider, sculptural works by Lutz & Guggisberg, as well as drawings and sketches by David Reed, Marcel van Eeden, Lawrence Weiner, and many other artists.
