Artists from Europe and North and South America reconsider the organisation of space in paintings; the play of reality and illusion and of inside and outside.
There are works which create illusions of another world beyond the gallery wall - the realism of Thomas Huber's stage set painting, Toby Ziegler's trompe l'oeil effects using Scotchbrite - where the 2-D fights with the 3-D. Reflections on idealistic places and dislocation are found in the works of Hurvin Anderson and Andro Wekua.
Many of the artists, including conceptual architects Christophe Berdaguer and Marie Péjus have made work specific to Camden Arts Centre’s space. Silke Schatz creates a wall work recalling the places where she has lived and loved.

Exhibiting artists: Franz Ackermann, Phillip Allen, Hurvin Anderson, Yves Bélorgey, Christophe Berdaguer & Marie Péjus, Santiago Cucullu, René Daniëls, Thomas Huber, Andrew Lewis, Julie Mehretu, Alexandre Ovize, Ulf Puder, Silke Schatz, Matthias Weischer, Andro Wekua, Toby Ziegler, Oliver Zwink.

The exhibition has been organised in collaboration with Le Plateau/Frac Ile-de-France and is part of Paris calling, a season of contemporary art from France.
