Questions & Flowers – A Retrospective

In collaboration with Tate Modern, London and Kunsthaus Zurich, the Swiss artists Peter Fischli (*1952) and David Weiss (*1946) both born and living in Zurich, have unfolded an immense wealth of ideas in their sculptures, photographic works, video installations and artist books with humor and subtleness . The absurdity of the common and trivial in every day life provide the basis of their works. Fischli & Weiss represented Switzerland many times at the biennale in Venice and other international cultural events. The film „The Way Things Go“ was the favourite of the public at the documenta8 in 1987. Their works are shown in various museums around the world, like the Guggenheim museum New York, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Modern in London, the Museum of Art in Basel ort he Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen. The first retrospectiv of the Swiss artists will be shown at the Deichtorhallen, conceived by Fischli&Weiss themselves for the North hall.The exhibition is in cooperation with Tate Modern, London and the Kunsthaus Zurich.An exhibition in line with the Triennale of Photography.
