FIONA BANNER HAS BECOME WELL K...
Fiona Banner has become well known for her epic and often handwritten descriptions of hollywood movies which were large format drawings. The 1000 page textbook "The Nam" consists of a monumetal description of five different Vietnam movies which results in an almost unreadable monolitic text. This textbased work has led Fiona Banner to a special interest in the form of the writing and also in typography and especially in the mostly overlooked punctuation marks. Fiona Banner̉‘s work is very much situated within a relfection of language within popular culture. She visualized the language and transfers it into other medias such as sculpture and drawing.
