Foam presents the first large retrospective by the influential fashion and portrait photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
Never before has a retrospective of this duo been organised, not even in the United States where they have been living and working for many years. Both the retrospective as well as the accompanying catalogue will show a very personal selection of their work. Both provide an insight into how the two photographers, who are at the top of their game globally, relate to the work they have produced during the last few decades. Fine art, fashion photography and portraits are juxtaposed without taking into account chronology.
Both photographers belong without a doubt to the top of international fashion and portrait photographers. In the course of time they have achieved an important place in commercial photography by their many editorials for Vogue and their extensive campaigns for fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Gucci, and many others. They have also made a name for themselves within the autonomous fine art photography world.
