This first solo exhibition at Galerie Hans Schabus Jocelyn Wolff consists of three works, Turmbau zu Babel, Republic and Vogeltränke (to cast one’s mind back into mold).
Turmbau zu Babel is composed of 6 puzzles of the Babel Tower of Bruegel (preserved in Vienna) made by different vendors and assembled by the artist, which we only see the back and not the image.
Republic (2010, 135 x 315 x 647 cm) is an installation made from the artist’s staircase, and is placed on pedestal portions of the gallery wall at the sill entrance.
Vogeltränke (to cast one’s mind back into mold) (1998/2009, bronze, water; 31 x 46 x 35 cm) is the casting of the back of the head of the artist.
