Afgang (MFA Degree Show) is the annual exhibition for the graduates from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Schools of Visual Arts. In these months, 28 artists are finishing their 6-year education. The exhibition celebrates and presents new works created by the graduates of The Art Academy. The exhibition is at one time the culmination of their education and an insight into the latest six years working process.

Afgang 2021 is curated by Vermilion Sands. With diverse backgrounds in art and exhibition making, Malene Dam, Kevin Malcolm and Nikolaj Stobbe have been organising innovative projects with an international outlook at their exhibition space in Copenhagen since 2016.

Afgang 2021 is presented in the classical setting of the large skylight halls as in the foyer, staircase and cinema at Kunsthal Charlottenborg and is accompanied the last three Wednesdays of the exhibition period by ‘Afgang Live’ presenting performances, guided tours, film screenings, etc. on May 5, 12 and 19 at 17-20.

The exhibition is realised with support from the 15 June Foundation, the Augustinus Foundation and the Obel Family Foundation as well as sponsorships from Cerama, DP-Textiles, Flügger Farver St. Kongensgade, Grønning Hårdt Træ A/S, Snoer.
