RICO SCAGLIOLA & MICHAEL MEIER
19 August – 29 October 2017
The artist duo Rico Scagliola & Michael Meier (*1985 and *1982, live in Zurich) impressively portrayed a generation of teenagers with their much-acclaimed diploma project Neue Menschen (New People). The search for identity between longing and abyss was shown in topics such as gender, sexuality, subculture and celebrity-madness. Aspects which the artists have handled in other works with precise self-staging that is both serious and humorous. At Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen, Rico Scagliola & Michael Meier are presenting new works in their first solo exhibition at an institution. Over a long period of research the artists travelled to world cities and photographed people in urban space. The result is a kaleidoscope that examines the relationship between the body, everyday gestures and architecture.
