ACTING OUT. Italian artists in action

MAXXI and Telecom Italia are presenting ACTING OUT. Italian artists in action, a performance season in the museum spaces and, to follow, an exhibition presenting the monumental works, the photographs, the videos and the documentation remaining from the performances. The projected is therefore based around the relationship between performative action and what remains through a reflection on the relationship between space, art work and the public, and on the relationship between the event and its documentation, between the visual experience and the performative action.
The artists involved, Alex Cechetti, Bruna Esposito and Marzia Migliora, will be realising a project that, starting out with the performative phase, concludes with the exhibition of the evidence of the performance. The work and its creative process are exhibited within the ambit of their reciprocal relations. The artists, using diverse idioms and methods, give rise to different narratives that share a desire to relate to the spatial reality of the museum and the social, political and historical reality of the world.
