ART. SCHOOL. LEIPZIG
Painting and Illustration from 1947
13 July - 19 October 2014
Marking the 250th anniversary of the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig presents a selection of paintings and illustrations from its own collection, created by artists who have taught at the Academy since 1947. The focus of the selection is on the artistic community between teachers and students who themselves frequently become teachers. This genealogical approach illuminates the various phases and emphases at the Academy, also the continuities and fractures in artistic perceptions.
"Art. School. Leipzig" shows works from Hans Aichinger, Walter Arnold, Harry Blume, Christel Blume-Benzler, Dietrich Burger, Kurt Dietze, Hartwig Ebersbach, Wolfram Ebersbach, Gerhard Eichhorn, Jörg Ernert, Fritz Fröhlich, Sighard Gille, Ulrich Hachulla, Ernst Hassebrauk, Bernhard Heisig, Wolfgang Henne, Karl-Georg Hirsch, Irmgard Horlbeck-Kappler, Heinrich Ilgenfritz, Joachim Jansong, Astrid Klein, Emil Koch, Oliver Kossack, Karl Krug, Karlheinz Kuhn, Rolf Kuhrt, Katrin Kunert, Johannes Lebek, Walter Libuda, Heinz Mäde, Kurt Massloff, Wolfgang Mattheuer, Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt, Hans Mayer-Foreyt, Gabriele Meyer-Dennewitz, Reinhard Minkewitz, Gerhard Kurt Müller, Walter Münze, Rolf Münzner, Alexander Neroslow, Joachim Nusser, Gudrun Petersdorff, Wolfgang Peuker, Hartmut Piniek, Neo Rauch, Arno Rink, Robert Schmiedel, Annette Schröter, Klaus Schwabe, Max Schwimmer, Volker Stelzmann, Heinz Eberhard Strüning, Günter Thiele, Gerd Thielemann, Werner Tübke, Elisabeth Voigt, Heinz Völkel, Heinz Wagner, Christian Weihrauch, Volker Wendt, Heinrich Witz and Doris Ziegler
