HOUSES FOR DISPLACED
Houses for displaced is a series of models for buildings and a series of collages. In 1962 the architect and artist Zvi Hecker designed (together with Alfred Neumann and Eldar Sharon) what was know as Arab Village, a set of small houses/shelters for people displaced by the 1948 War of Independence in Israel. This is then the origin of this series of works. I looked at two factors specifically; what does a shelter consist of (roof and walls or roofwalls) and under what circumstance would it make sense to build shelters that could glow in the dark.
