PIUS FOX

* 1983 in Berlin.
2010 master student at the University of Arts, Berlin
His paintings are classic painting at its best. He shows courage in which he sets out on the well-elaborated field of abstract painting and doing all denominated in shrill tones and dispensed. Pius Fox preferred the small size and a covered range. His paintings are composed safe at all restraint and nonchalance. In this regard - particularly in the watercolors, the spontaneity of painting overlooked. He has an endless fund of ideas, sometimes based on structural, ornamental and also on figurative ciphers. The literary equivalent of his paintings and watercolours would be a haiku: just, concrete, currently open.
He often stacked one above the other various paint layers. Meet geometric or free abstract shapes on tachistic color patches with picturesque ductus, moving brush marks enter into dialogue with elaborate figurative forms. But rarely more than two contradictory moments are brought together in an image. This game with opposing elements continues in the paint. Subtle picturesque areas of color are superimposed and pierced by a straight line drawn with the pencil lines, grid areas or ornamental elements.
