Ariel Reichman, born 1979 in Johannesburg, South Africa, to a white Jewish-orthodox family. There, he grew up in a gated community. Moving to Israel in 1991 freed him from his physical containment, but resulted in a reinforced conflict with his environment, formed by ideology and religion. Reichman gathers this personal conflict by means of a spare use of forms, which provides access to political interpretations, but also allows for introspection.
ARIEL REICHMAN, born 1979 in Johannesburg, South Africa, lives and works in Berlin. His work is also on display at the Mediations Biennale in Poznan, Poland. He will furthermore participate at Manifesta 8, which opens October 9, 2010, in Murcia, Spain.
