In the Abstract Cabinet, Sala Rekalde presents the exhibition by Eriz Moreno included in the barriek 2016 programme, whose purpose is to display work by artists who have been awarded Grants for Artistic Creation by the Regional Council of Bizkaia.
The name and motif for the project (Bratstvo / Jedinstvo) come from the Brotherhood and Unity Highway, built in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to connect, over their 1180 kilometres, the six regions that made up the federation, its name referring to the Yugoslav national motto. From the border with Austria, it passes Ljubljana, Zagreb, Belgrade and Skopje as far as the frontier with Greece in the southeast. It was the first and only modern highway in the country.
The exhibition shows the result of the experience of the territory and (past and present) history of Yugoslavia obtained on the journey by motorway.

Eriz Moreno (Bilbao, 1982) mastered in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna. He received various scholarships and awards, executing projects in Armenia, Germany, Spain, the USA, Macao, Greece, Poland and the UK. Particularly noteworthy among the shows he has held since 2013 are the individual exhibitions Projekt Beton at the Muzeum Regionalne w Szczecinku (Poland), and 18/19/2013, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of the Nations, in the public space of Leipzig (Germany, 2013) and at the Fundación Bilbaoarte (Spain, 2014). His collective shows include Horizontes (2013) at the Museo Guggenheim de Bilbao (Spain); Wo wir sind (Where we are) (2015) at D21 Kunstraum Leipzig (Germany); and Meeting Point (2015), at the Konstanz Kunstverein (Germany) and the Kunstraum Kreuzlingen (Switzerland), on the 600th anniversary of the Council of Constance.
The Bratstvo / Jedinstvo project has been funded by the Regional Council of Bizkaia and Eremuak.
