SCHAUPLATZ #3: SARAH BURGER
Géométrie Du Temps
Curated by Gioia Dal Molin
3 - 25 May 2013
We are happy to announce our upcoming SCHAU PLATZ #3 exhibition curated by Gioia Dal Molin: Sarah Burger - Géométrie du temps. Please join us for the opening on 2nd May and on 18 May at 7 pm for a performance in the exhibition.
The term “geometry” denominates the survey of spatial matter and its schematic depiction. Time, on the other hand, seems to be immeasurable and unrepresentable when using the measuring units of space. This discrepancy is exactly where Sarah Burger’s artistic research sets in. Using experimental set-ups, she investigates the possibilities of visualizing the transformations of matter and material expanding over time. Placed within precise alignments, the subjects of her research find their own formations. Also relevant in Sarah Burger’s work is her questioning of the relationship between object and image. Please visit the artist's website to download her portfolio.
The curator of this exhibition, Gioia Dal Molin, is an art historian and theoretician living in Zurich. She is currently working on her dissertation about funding of fine art in Switzerland. Gioia Dal Molin is also co-initiator of the Zurich based exhibition and discussion platform Le Foyer.
SCHAUPLATZ is a series of group exhibitions featuring young artists working in Zurich. Invited to present their works in a gallery environment, these new talents are introduced to the public and make their first experiences with the professional art market.
