TARO NASU is very pleased to announce Cozue Takagi's first solo show at TARO NASU TOKYO from 27th February to 21st March.
This show has been long-hoped for, as Takagi's works have become highly acclaimed through winning the prize in two major contests in Japan for young photographers,“CANON New Cosmos of Photography” and “EPSON Color Imaging Contest”.
Takagi's creation is mainly based on two streams - one is the series of strait photography, and the other is the series of photography works using digital techniques.
By using graphic software, Takagi manipulates and collages the images that she actually photographs, and creates the new visual world, which transcend the reproducible nature of the photograph.
In this solo show, the new works are based on the latter series, but also links the 2 streams of her creation.
The installation will be composed by large works, which are over 3 meters high, and small works showing the fragments composing the large works, just as if splitting out from the large photograph.
This year, Takagi will participate in “VOCA” (the exhibition introducing new artists in Japan), And for further information, two publications will be both published from AKAAKA ART PUBLISHING, Inc., this autumn.
