Conditions of Display is an exhibition that will showcase the work of artists who are interested in display strategies, presentational contexts, and the myriad ways in which artworks are framed and distributed. Stemming from the preoccupations of early conceptual artists that first turned toward a rigorous investigation of site, the concerns of these younger artists engage not only the immediate physical locale where the work is exhibited but the systems of distribution and display in which they function. The exhibition will present the work of mostly younger artists, but it will also attempt to engage previous generation by inviting some of its members to intervene.
This exhibition is presented in collaboration with Locust Projects, Miami with which The Moore Space is producing a joint catalogue.
