Whitechapel Gallery - Q&A - Artists In Conversation
Q&A: ARTISTS IN CONVERSATION
11 March – 27 August 2017

An interview is an exchange, a dialogic method for understanding and communicating ideas. Scripted or open-ended, interviews can take many forms: print, live broadcasts, sound, recorded film, email exchanges and much more. They can be informative, performative or an art work in their own right.

Tracing the evolution of changing technologies, this exhibition presents interviews from the Whitechapel Gallery Archive and other archives as well as selected conversations conceived by artists and curators.

Featuring interviews by artists Kevin Atherton, Marcel Broodthaers, James Lee Byars,John Cage, Prunella Clough, Nan Goldin, Jannis Kounellis, Marysia Lewandowska,Bruce McLean, Paul Noble, Cornelia Parker, Robert Rauschenberg, Bridget Riley and Andy Warhol, with curated projects by Brainard Carey, Drawing Room Confessions: Manuela Ribadeneira, Vincent Honoré with Äbake and DRC Radio: Peter Meanwell, William Furlong, Hans-Ulrich Obrist and Grant Watson.

The Whitechapel Gallery archive exhibitions are generously supported by Catherine and Franck Petitgas.
