Ready-Made

New York, NY, March 26, 2007 — Yvon Lambert New York is pleased to announce its second independent exhibition in its Project Space. After opening it’s new, New York flagship location at 550 West 21st Street in February 2007 – featuring a group exhibition, Mario Testino: At Home from July 10 to August 21, 2007 – the 564 West 25th Street location is now used as a project space. Ready-Made will feature The Art Guys, Michael Brown, Didier Faustino, Zilvinas Kempinas, Koo Jeong-A, Paul Lee, Sarah Lucas, Cady Noland, Shinique Smith and Rachel Whiteread, collaboratively curated by the staff of Yvon Lambert New York and Paris. Each artist in the exhibition presents their own spin on the ready-made: some continue the Duchampian tradition of “re-titling” or re-purposing of a common object to make an objet d’art, others use an amalgamation of everyday objects in the creation of an entirely new work, while others fabricate seemingly or deceptively common objects from other raw materials. In each instance, the artist expands the viewers’ perception of the object and the art. The exhibition will be on view from July 12 through August 21, 2007, and is open Tuesday through Friday from Noon to 6PM. A reception will be held at the gallery July 12 from 6 to 8 pm.
