301PE is pleased to announce its third solo exhibition with acclaimed Belgian artist Ann Veronica Janssens. For more than twenty years Janssens's work has been widely recognized for her ability to challenge and experiment with the definition of perception.
In this exhibition Janssens will be exhibiting new works continuing her exploration into what she terms the 'ungraspable'. Through her motifs of abstraction, mirroring, and light, Janssens deliberately displaces and transforms her specific materials.

Janssens's works – installations, sculptures, and modest interventions – are not monumental or permanent structures, but sensorial environments that engage the viewer in real-time lived experiences. Willing or not, the audience activates the work and vice versa allowing themselves to perceive and "interpret the meaning of his or her personal experience".
Born in Folkestone, England in 1956, Janssens lives and works in Brussels. In 1999 Janssens represented Belgium at the 48th Venice Biennale. This exhibition is concurrent with the release of two books focusing on Ann Veronica Janssens work: Endless Andness: The Politics of Abstraction According to Ann Veronica Janssens by Mieke Bal (2013) and Ann Veronica Janssens: Serendipity (catalogue) in conjunction with her 2012 exhibition at WIELS, Brussels.
