Almine Rech Gallery, Bruxelles
The Gallery Almine Rech is pleased to announce the second exhibition to be held at 20 rue de l'Abbaye, a group show bringing together invited artists and artists of the gallery.
The artists are not constricted by a running theme. The only imposed element is that created by the space itself -- an industrial warehouse left unfinished. This group show is the only occasion for the gallery to present these artists in the current atmosphere of the space, as it is destined to be destroyed and renovated after the exhibition.
For this exhibition, the entirety of the building has been made available to the artists.
Sculptures, installations, paintings, and drawings will be intermingled from the garage to the offices. The artists' works will be confronted in a way that recalls more the artist's studio than the exhibition space.
The space at 20 rue de l'Abbaye will be closed from the 1st of January until the month of October in 2009. Throughout this period of renovation, the gallery will be temporarily located at 14 rue de Praetere. This temporary space will be inaugurated with a premier exhibition opening on the 22nd of January.
