16 February - 20 March 2015
Tyler's geometric paintings draw inspiration from anachronistic computer
designs and convert outdated graphic images to heavily painted oil paintings.
The bright and thick colors attract attention and make the canvas seem like an
embossment. Tyler's paintings can be perceived as a nostalgic homage to
abstract painting such as Josef Albers' works or as a quest for understanding
the role of technology in contemporary art.
Tyler was born in 1981. Lives and works in Brooklyn, New York
