Anu Tuominen (born1961) is one of Finland’s most original and innovative artists. Although her works often originate from linguistic ideas and ways of giving them a visual equivalent, they also appeal to those who do not speak Finnish. In fact, she is one of Finland’s most international artists. Her works are on display all over the world and she is connected with galleries as far away as Japan. Anu Tuominen has received important prizes and awards from both Finnish and foreign experts. As early as 1995 she received the main prize of the Mänttä Art Festival from Björn Springfeldt, and in 2003 Alexandr Borovski chose her for the Ars Fennica prize. When René Block assembled the 40th anniversary exhibition of Fluxus art in Germany he invited Anu Tuominen of Finland to participate.

Anu Tuominen’s works are amusing and beautiful, while also surprising and self-evident. When the viewer sees a work by her, he will think: “Yes, of course... but I wouldn’t have thought of that.”

WELCOME to see Anu Tuominen’s latest works.
