SANTERI TUORI
29 November - 21 December 2012

This exhibition of work by Santeri Tuori (born 1970) at Galerie Anhava features photographs of forests and skies and a video piece. The photographs consist of black and white images combined with up to seven colour photographs into stunning works. In the video piece, several photographs and videos are combined with each other and sound.
Santeri Tuori’s works are elegant and they have a marked appeal to the senses. He has total command of the latest means of making images, using them to create new, original works in which an experience or recollection of nature is combined with an observing gaze and selection. Tuori’s works seem to appeal to viewers regardless of their age, nationality or cultural background.

In recent years, Santeri Tuori has held solo exhibitions at the Malmö Art Museum and Haninge Konsthall in Sweden, the Wäinö Aaltonen Art Museum in Turku and EMMA Espoo Museum of Modern Art in Finland, the Wacoal Art Center in Tokyo, the Pro Art Foundation in St. Petersburg and Gallery Effearte in Milan, among other venues. He has also participated in dozens of international art exhibitions from the Kumu Art Museum in Tallinn to New York’s MoMA. Videos and photographs by him are included in public collections in Finland, the collections of the Malmö Art Museum and Brandts Kl?defabrik in Odense, Denmark, and in private collections in the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Denmark and the United States.

The exhibition will be mounted on Tuesday, 27 November and the opening will be held on Thursday 29 November from 5 pm to 7 pm.
