Galerie Nicola von Senger is pleased to present HARMONIE 5, a solo show by Elke Silvia Krystufek.
HARMONIE 5 is part of a series of exhibitions by the artist following in different locations across the world, each relating to its own topic. The series started with HARMONIE 2 at Vegas Gallery in London in October 2011, one month later HARMONIE 3 was held at Box Gallery in Los Angeles. After the current show in Zurich HARMONIE 8 will be shown at Le Confort Moderne in Poitiers and HARMONIE 20 at Haus am Waldsee in Berlin, both in September 2012.
The selection of the numbers in the titles is solely subjective.
HARMONIE 5 is curated by the artist. All works presented refer in one way or the other to Elke Silvia Krystufek’s interest in architecture. Besides one installation work Krystufek will show Acrylic Paintings and Photographs, all of them produced within the last fifteen years of her career.
The Austrian born artist studied at Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna from 1988 to 1992, where she also has held a Professorship in 2005/2006.
Krystufek has been exhibiting in numerous international institutions, such as: GEM - Museum of Contemporary Art, Den Haag, ARC Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Whitechapel Art Gallery, London, Centre Pompidou, Paris, MoMA Contemporary Art Center, New York and Statens Museum for Kunst, Kopenhagen.
Moreover, Krystufek was one of three artistic positions representing Austria at the Venice Biennale in the Austrian pavilion in 2009.
