From Here to Eternity is a show of Oliver Pietsch’s video works of the past 13 years. The screen will show a progressive process of refining of the look; a look that becomes dark fantasy, critic scenario and a sharp invitation that leaves the spectator wondering about our relationship with the world, fragment after fragment.
The exhibition presents an overview of the artist’s video works of the last 13 years. Oliver Pietsch’s vocabulary is made up by profuse audiovisual references taken from audiovisual products of modern cinematographic industry, mostly. Without being removed from their ideological and historical-political loads, the artist reconstructs them, thus creating new narratives with which, however, we achieve different grades of identification and empathy on an emotional and intellectual level.
