"While Greven's smooth canvasses do contain some of this romance, there's a certain anaesthetised soberness to them, too, that calls for a different reading - they're far too cool to swoon. The story of love, as it is rendered in her pale colours, is one in which the whole simply doesn't exist; the fragment exists, because that is what has been conjured. Love, beyond the detail, that void waiting to be filled, is not within the realms of the possible. This is a world of science and technology, trials and error, in which the hypothesis being tested is feeling itself."
