Opening a new series of commissions for the Barbican’s public spaces, contemporary artist Maria Nepomuceno presents Cosmic Teta. Using materials and techniques developed by the artist and inspired by the indigenous craft traditions of Brazil, Nepomuceno’s woven and beaded sculpture brings vibrant colour and a sense of growth to the Barbican’s Brutalist surround.
