ULLA VON BRANDENBURG AND MALIN PETTERSSON ÖBERG
7 September - 30 October 2011

For this autumn’s five-year celebration, we invite some of the 150 artists – artists we have worked with thus far who have helped shape the first years of our institution and whom we just cannot let go of – to work with us once again.

The exhibition series will begin with Chorspiel and Stereoscopic Scenography, the first collaboration between Ulla von Brandenburg and Malin Pettersson Öberg. A painted drapery, shaped like a room of fabrics, encases Ulla von Brandenburg’s film Chorspiel, a family drama in a musical format.

The motif of the drapery relates to the imaginary and provisionary rooms that appear in the film and to its theme of seeing, perspective and observation, which Pettersson Öberg associates with the glass architecture of the Spetsen Gallery.

Ulla von Brandenburg participated in Bonniers Konsthall’s exhibition Against Time in 2007. Malin Pettersson Öberg was one of the young artists involved in the Konsthall’s exhibition In Search of the Lost Self in 2007. She met Ulla von Brandenburg at Bonniers Konsthall later that year when she helped von Brandenburg prepare for Against Time. They received a grant, enabling Malin to work with Ulla in her studio in Paris, France. Chorspiel and Stereoscopic Scenography are the artists’ first collaboration and joint exhibition.
