HAVE FAITH OR PANDEMONIUM
Tuesday 24 August - Saturday 28 August 2010
12:00pm - 5:00pm: FREE
Venue: CCA 4 (cinema)
Ages: all
A - I normally love surprises but why did you come here?
B - I don't know... Or maybe I do... Don't ask stupid questions.
A - What are you thinking about?
C - Another useless question.
A man drops a screwdriver.
A woman sits on the chair.
A man mops the floor.
A man says sorry.
A woman shakes her head.
They rehearse the words again.
Rob Kennedy (London, 1968) lives and works in Glasgow, making videos and objects that draw together disparate elements attempting to provoke a series of abrupt relationships. Forcing these alliances stems from a desire to de-stabilise certain conventions and allow the individual elements to find other formulas with which they can narrate their existence.
Recent work has been shown at MMX, Berlin; Videonale, Bonn; Location One, New York; AND Festival, Liverpool.
Showcasing a diverse range of artists’ film and video, Reflections on Black is an exciting new programme at CCA throughout 2010. Screening works by international artists including the acclaimed Keren Cytter, and by those closer to home such as Glasgow based filmmakers Laura Aldridge and Conal McStravick, Reflections on Black presents a rare opportunity to engage with the best in contemporary artists’ film. Each film will be screened on a loop from Tuesday to Saturday, 12 – 5pm, during the last week of each month.
