This new exhibition follows Villemont's ongoing study of fashion shows and contemporary art displays of the early 20th century. Studies for a Collection will play with the ideas and look of a fashion showroom and explore what it shares in common with an exhibition space through sculptural garments and retail display structures.
Joey Villemont was born in France in 1986. Recent presentations of his work include 'L'echo/ce qui sépare' curated by Bruno Peinado, FRAC Loire Atlantique, 2014 - Carquefou ; Display Mediating Landscape - Curated by Flip Projects - Sala Murat, 2014 – Bari ; Relax, The Project Room, 2013 - Glasgow ; On the Rocks, Curated by Candice Jacobs, The Attic - Nottingham.
