THE SCOTTISH ALBUM OF THE YEAR AWARD
ART COMMISSION
29 May — 15 June 2014

The Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award returns to champion the best albums of 2013 and to celebrate the enduring links between music and art, through its innovative Art Commission. The SAY Art Commission has been created alongside the music award to support some of the most promising art graduates from Scotland’s four principal art schools: Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow School of Art and Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen.

This year, The SAY Art Commission comes to CCA’s Intermedia Gallery with its second group show, timed to coincide with the announcement of The Scottish Album of the Year Award shortlist. Each exhibitor will receive £500 to create a new piece of work for the exhibition and the award winner – chosen by an independent panel of judges – will earn an additional £12,000 and the opportunity to create a new artwork for the shortlisted albums of 2013.
