SHADOWLAND BY KAZUHIRO GOSHIMA
A 3D audiovisual installation
14 November 2014 - 12 April 2015

Shadowland is a 3D audiovisual installation that explores the field of the lights and shadows. Its a piece from the japanese artist Kazuhiro Goshima.

Shadowland is a 3D short film by Japanese artist Kazuhiro Goshima. This subtle proposal is the product of the combination of what we call “found animation” and an innovative stereoscopic technique.

Night after night, countless vehicles make their way through the metropolises of the world, their headlights producing fleeting, moving shadows on the multiple surfaces of these big cities. On a building’s wall, for instance, new shadows are cast over and over, creating a transient image of what transpires during a moment of life in the city.

Shadowland won Awards of Distinction at Prix Ars Electronica, Linz (2014).

By presenting in parallel the projects Arissa. The Shadow and the Photographer, 1922-1936 and Shadowland we relate two artistic adventures that, a century apart, are connected by composition and light research.
