WORLD PRESS PHOTO 16
International professional photojournalism exhibition
10 November - 11 December 2016
Now in Barcelona, the 59th edition of the World Press Photo exhibition and our city’s 12th. See the 155 winning photos in this prestigious international photojournalism competition. The Foundation Photographic Social Vision complements the exhibition with guided visits, workshops and other activities to generate debate about the value and challenges of photojournalism, and to explore the themes of the winning projects.
World Press Photo is considered the most important photojournalism exhibition in the world, both for the quality of the photographs and the debate it generates on the issues it addresses. The exhibition is the result of an international competition organized annually by the foundation of the same name and aimed at fostering a better understanding of the world through high-quality press photography.
Since 2005, as a partner of World Press Photo, Photographic Social Vision has organized the exhibition at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, programming audiovisual content, guided tours, workshops, and lectures alongside the exhibit of the winning images, allowing visitors to experience photojournalism in depth.
