Trees, bodies, trafic jams. Ann Loubert’s year-long trip to China and Taiwan took place in two stages. In Beijing, the artist discovered a dynamic popular and artistic culture, as well as learning the langue she studies. Always while painting. Later on, the young woman discovered Taiwan and its artists, lifestyle, coloured trees and tropical climate.
Beyond a personal questioning and humility arising from this journey, the artist’s pratice evolved through her meetings, her experiences and the intellectual and material tools provided her by this part of the world.
