RESIDENCY EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
Since 2005, the City of Strasbourg, in conjunction with its partner cities throughout the world (through twinning, decentralized cooperation and the Club de Strasbourg), has organized “residency exchanges” for visual artists, on a reciprocal basis.
The partners involved in this method of hosting and sending out artists are the Centre européen d’actions artistiques contemporaines (CEAAC), Apollonia and the Haute école des arts du Rhin (HEAR).
During their stay, foreign artists hosted in Strasbourg are supported in their creative work and invited to contribute to the cultural environment of Strasbourg and its region. Artists from Strasbourg also receive support during their residency abroad.
After the residencies, a group exhibition in Strasbourg presents the works created by artists from Strasbourg and abroad during one or two-year residency exchanges.
