MARKUS BACHER
Bertha and other works
22 November - 22 December 2012
We are pleased to announce the first solo exhibition with new works by Markus Bacher at Contemporary Fine Arts. The artist was born in Kitzbühel/Tyrol in 1983 and graduated from the University of Applied Arts Vienna in 2009. He lives and works in Vienna and Cologne.
“Surfaces, lines and colours” – that’s how Markus Bacher describes his painting. He develops his works using a dualistic principle. The mainly monochrome foundation he builds up out of different layers, thus giving it an intensive vitality. On this ground he sets more paint, often pastose and relief-like, multi-coloured and detailed.
Markus Bacher‘s works oscillate between figurative and abstraction. Figurative or scenic associations are possible, but are not challenged.
